It’s Friday! Why not send you off into the weekend with an excellent new video by Caspar Babypants? “The Creatures Under My Bed” is from Caspar’s most recent album, Rise and Shine.
For this video, Chris Ballew, Caspar’s main man, enlisted the help of New Zealand animators, Mukpuddy (“Mister Rabbit,” “My Flea Has Dogs“) again. The whimsical animation paired with this catchy little tune makes the idea of having creatures under your bed pretty fantastic.
As I said in my original post for “Mister Rabbit,” really anything by Caspar Babypants needs to be heard and seen.
Caspar Babypants has a new record out called I Found You, which also happens to be Caspar’s sixth release in just 3 years.Much like the other Caspar Babypants albums, this one does not disappoint.
Below are two new videos from the album which will surely whet your appetite for more. And, it just so happens that tracks from I Found You can be sampled and purchased from Caspar Babypants’ official site.
The first video is for the title track, “I Found You,” and features lots of funny little creatures. Each piece is unique with lots of character, much like the song itself.

The second video is for one of my favorite songs on the album. “Too Dirty to Love” features animation by Charlotte Blacker (Stompy the Bear) and additional vocals by Rachel Flotard. As the parent of a little girl who happens to love the mud just as much as it loves her, I can proudly say that this video hits home!

The song, “Take Me To The City Dump” was made in honor of the late J.P. Patches. J.P. Patches was a very popular clown and star of The J.P. Patches Show, a long-running and very popular Seattle children’s program. J.P. was a great inspiration for Caspar’s frontman Chris Ballew. In fact, the song was written by Ballew and performed at J.P’s public memorial service. The song is exclusive to this video and will not be on the new album but hey, anytime we can get our hands on some new Caspar stuff it always brightens our day.
Check out the video below and grab a free download of the song here.
YAY! Another Caspar video!! Watching Caspar’s videos is like eye candy. They are always so creative and fun and I can’t seem to take my eyes off of them. It’s a pleasure to present to you “Stompy the Bear” off of the new album, “Hot Dog.” Caspar enlisted the help of Charlotte Blacker, a prize-winning animation artist.
Here I Am! Not me, but the name of the debut album of this awesome band. Please note that since it’s release in 2009 there have been 3 more releases in less than 4 years. Two of them released in the same year. I would say that is pretty awesome but what is even more awesome is that Chris Ballew, the man behind the music, is the former lead singer of “Presidents of the United States of America.” Yes, those people. Yes, that song “Lump.” Regardless of how you felt about Presidents (I was a fan!) you can’t deny their propensity to produce a catchy tune or two. Well, Ballew has moved into the Kindie arena and it seems to be a beautiful fit.
The songs that Caspar has produced up to this point are catchy, soulful and filled with fun. Some of the songs are originals and others are beautifully revised. Here I Am was released back in 2009 and I chose to review this album first because my 3yr old has requested it every time we have gotten into the car for the past couple of months. Yes, months. But, we have the other albums and so I do try to sneak in some of their other classics which is always met with a breath of excitement to the tune of “Oh, this song is on here yay!”
So, get on over to their site and check out their sound. You can listen to samples from each album as well as buy the CD or individual tracks directly from their site.
Here are some videos from this release, just to whet your appetite (these can also be found on the site as well).
